Johnston’s Grain is pleased to partner with SixRing™ to introduce their unique family of lignin-derived crop & seed stimulants, notably its SeedShield™ seed dressing, and their FieldEdge™ foliar. These are products that have extraordinary molecular performance that will optimize your overall crop health and fertilizer investments and / or minimize the effects of the current fertilizer market volatility via their unique signaling properties. Derived from non-food-based lignocellulosic biomass via the SixRing™ patented processes and methods, the TeraCoatTM &TeraSix™ family of stimulants are uniquely rich in carboxylic acids and phenol groups, only observed in their products. Importantly, they are characterized by a very small molecular structure that allows for optimal seed and plant absorption of natural signals that encourage optimal germination and overall plant vitality. These are molecules that can achieve results typically only observed from synthetic hormones yet are 100% natural and EDTA free. The Johnston’s team is pleased to be one of Canada’s only early distributors of the TeraCoatTM &TeraSix™ family of products, with access to limited supplies for the 2026 growing season.

CTO Markus Weissenberger has over 25 years of international research and development experience with renowned research facilities and diverse industrial fields. He holds a PhD in physical and polymer chemistry from the University of Potsdam/Germany and executed his research work at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Germany. Markus has a profound working knowledge of the chemical industry and energy business. He leads an experienced R&D team at SixRing Inc. and has intensive experience in international commercialization of new products and processes. Markus leads the IP generation activities at SixRing and has authored more than 100 patents.
Alejandra Enriquez brings more than a decade of experience in formulation, chemical development, and advanced analytical techniques. She holds an M.Sc. in Inorganic Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Bioinorganic Chemistry from the University of Calgary, where she developed deep expertise in biochemical methods and a broad suite of characterization tools used to study chemical reactivity and structure of various chemicals, from catalysts to pharmaceutical leads.At SixRing, Alejandra leads multidisciplinary projects that apply SixRing’s technology across diverse sectors, including agriculture, biofuels, pharmaceuticals, and industrial chemistry. She has extensive experience integrating chemical and biological processes and has played a key role in advancing several commercial applications of SixRing’s product platforms, contributing to over 20 patents.

Logistics Update
Bulk capacity is looking good this week ahead of the spring rush period, shippers should be able to find capacity for most lanes, although South-North may be difficult. While capacity should remain plentiful for the coming weeks, fuel has jumped significantly this week with rates likely to follow.

Due to the conflict in the Middle East and the associated rise in fuel prices, expect rate increases across the board on all transportation both inland and ocean.
