OPENING COMMENTS: USDA Market Update- September 2025
- Wheat:
- U.S. export projections were increased, while ending stocks moved lower. Globally, larger harvests in Australia, the EU, Russia, and Canada are contributing to higher world supplies.
- Corn:
- U.S. corn acreage has reached its highest level since the 1930s, with production estimated at 16.8 billion bushels. Exports are also projected at a record high, while ending stocks remain steady.
- Soybeans:
- U.S. production is slightly higher, with increased domestic processing. However, export estimates have been reduced, resulting in a modest rise in ending stocks.
- Rice:
- U.S. rice stocks have surged to their highest levels since the late 1980s.
- Other Notes:
- Global wheat and rice supplies are on the rise. Corn production shows a mixed picture globally, with declines in the EU and Russia offset by gains in Canada and India.
