Opening Comments

We had fantastic conversations with many growers last week. Western areas are well into the seeding season, while eastern areas are just getting into it. The one shared fact is that everyone received rain, creating a great start to our growing season!

Let’s chat new crop. Carrying over from last week, we are continuing to see new crop yellow bids up to $11.25-11.50/bu FOB farm. There has been limited demand for new crop red lentils at $0.33/lb FOB farm. We are continuing to see brown flax inquiries in the $16.50-$17.50/bu FOB farm range, with higher pricing towards the fall season.

Due to the rally in corn futures, we have seen renewed old crop/new crop interest from growers and buyers. We are seeing more targets communicated this week. If you haven’t set yours yet, please call our brokers to discuss!

Most of the feed barley is booking into June now, with limited room left for May. Please check with us for any off grade (high moisture, heated, damaged, etc.) product.
