Johnstons Connected Update
This week’s StatsCan report showed a 19% increase in barley production year over year, and barley exports continue to look strong. Even with the increase in supply, the feed market still trended higher, with buyers repositioning for both prompt and deferred barley movement. Corn is holding a $15–$20/MT premium over barley. Overall price expectations from feeders remains below seller’s levels but that small gap that will likely start to close in the new year.
Looking ahead, 2026 will be an interesting year as these market dynamics continue to unfold. If you’re considering locking in spot or deferred tonnage, feel free to reach out to discuss current trends and opportunities.
We also offer a wide range of feed products, including Canola Meal Pellets, Feed Oats, Peas, Wheat, Corn, DDGS, and Barley.
For inquiries, contact us at info@johnstonsconnected.com.
