New Crop Pricing Available
Every Tuesday at 2 PM MST, we will send out a supplemental update featuring New Crop 2026 pricing across all the provinces we serve. From Lethbridge to Lashburn, and Saskatoon to Brandon, you can count on fresh new crop offers to consider.
If you missed this week’s update, you can access the full pricing memo through the link attached

Barley Available!
Johnstons Grain’s access to dehulled barley, along with the flexibility we can offer on each order. Through our supply network, we’re able to source barley with precise levels of dehulling to meet specific market requirements. Whether you’re looking for a standard product or a more customized specification based on end-use, we can align supply accordingly.
Our offerings generally fall into three categories:
• Pet Barley – suited for pet food applications
• Pot Barley – moderately dehulled, ideal for flour milling
• Pearl Barley – more extensively processed for refined uses
Johnstons Grain can also provide detailed specification sheets for each to outline key quality parameters. Pricing will vary depending on the level of processing, with more intensive options like pearl barley requiring additional time and resulting in higher material loss. Availability may be tighter on more heavily processed products in the near term, but we’re always happy to explore options and work to secure supply that fits your needs.

Treads: DoubleStar
From day one, we didn’t just sell Doublestar tires; we put them through real-world punishment to prove their value. Our very first set of Doublestar DRD803 drive tires was pushed hard with extended burnouts on gravel; immediately showcasing outstanding traction, durability, and aggressive stone ejection, all while maintaining even wear.
Fast forward to over 130,000 km of Canadian roads and changing seasons, and the results speak for themselves. These tires are still delivering; showing consistent wear, zero stone drilling or chunking, and impressive remaining tread depth.

If you’re looking for a drive tire that holds up under pressure, reduces downtime, and keeps performing mile after mile, Doublestar DRD803 delivers proven, real-world reliability you can count on.

Logistics Update
Shippers may see tightness in capacity this week and next due to the Easter Holiday Weekend, with many drivers opting to spend Good Friday and Easter Monday with their families. These short weeks in combination with the rampant fuel increases we’ve seen the last few weeks may cause coverage issues and high freight rates as capacity dwindles.
| Equipment | Location | Looking to Get To |
| SuperB Hopper | Vancouver, BC | AB, SK |
| SuperB Hopper | Alberta | SK, MB |
| SuperB Hopper | Saskatoon, SK, Regina, SK | MB |
| SuperB Deck | Saskatoon, SK, Regina, SK | Anywhere |
Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the associated rise in fuel prices, expect rate increases across the board on all transportation both inland and ocean. Depending on vessel access to the Strait of Hormuz, it is likely that we see additional tightness on container equipment in the near future as well with longer transit times. If you have bulk, dry van, deck or container freight to move, please reach out to logistics@johnstonsgrain.com for a competitive quote!
