Opening Comments

Flax Flurry
A notable flax flurry took place late Friday afternoon, as reflected in the latest grain trade sheet. Both brown and yellow flax saw the most market activity heading into the weekend, along with modest movement in feed grains and other specialty crops.

Based on recent discussions with traders, it appears buyers, exporters, and traders are reassessing their positions on brown flax — with many expected to re-bid cautiously or temporarily step back from the market altogether. As a result, there’s a strong likelihood that brown flax movement will slow and values may soften until renewed demand emerges.

Meanwhile, yellow flax demand remains strong across Saskatchewan for November movement. If you have yellow flax available on-farm or under a first right of refusal contract, please get in touch — we’re actively buying and can get your flax to market!

Fall Soil Sampling Program

We’re currently running our fall soil sampling program and our team are on the ground pulling samples in Alberta and Western Saskatchewan. After soil sampling, we send sample to the Croplands Analytics lab in Tofield, AB for a Full Spectrum Analysis. And, if you’re willing to fill out a 2025 fertility questionnaire our team will return you an Advanced Fertility Recommendation designed to lower your crop input costs and rehabilitate challenging soil conditions, all the while maintaining or increasing yield. Through the use of our novel crop input products like vermicastings biology from Annelida, activated Calcium from Croplands Solution, and Humic Substances from BlackEarth, we’re able to make a low-cost and high-impact remediations to your soil.

Many of you will remember Dr. Karthi Narayanan from our 2025 Soil Health Events. If you attended one of these events, you will remember the value that Full Spectrum Analysis and Advanced Fertility Recommendations offer to your farm. We deployed our Advanced Fertility Recommendations on over 1,000,000 acres of crop and hay this year and the results have been outstanding. We were able to reduce several farms crop input bills by $25-$50/acre without sacrificing any yield and while making a lasting investment in soil health. Many of these farms also experienced large yield increases

How to participate:

  1. Send soil samples to Cropland Analytics (Dr. Karthi’s Lab) – 9068 51st Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 5X4.
  2. Submit your fertility program.
  3. Receive a custom review from Dr. Karthi and his team.

💲 $120/sample
🎁 Bonus: Submit both your sample and fertility form by Nov. 15 for a chance to win a FREE Rhyz Seed Enhancement Kit (valued at $1,250).

We’re here to complement your agronomist, not replace them, bringing added focus to soil biology and regenerative outcomes.
