Weevil Watch: Scouting Pays

We’re hearing increasing reports of weevil pressure across southern Saskatchewan, adding to an already challenging growing season. Left unchecked, weevils can significantly reduce yield potential, making regular field scouting critical to determine if economic thresholds have been reached. Johnstons Grain offers proven options including Deltamethrin 2.5, Lambda-cyhalothrin, and Cypermethrin for fast knockdown of actively feeding adult weevils. If you’re seeing signs of damage, contact your trusted Johnstons Grain representative for product availability, pricing, and application guidance.

The FUN In: FUNGICIDE

Moisture levels have been abundant across much of Western Canada, and seasonal weather forecasts indicate the potential for continued moisture through parts of the summer. While adequate moisture is critical for strong yield potential, excessive rainfall can create its own set of challenges, including increased pressure from diseases such as sclerotinia stem rot, fusarium head blight, and septoria leaf spot, along with lodging, nutrient loss, and reduced crop quality. This could be the year when a timely fungicide application becomes an important management tool to protect yield potential, address emerging disease pressure, and help carry your crop toward what many hope will be a much-needed bumper harvest for Canadian farmers.

By now, you’re likely familiar with our lineup of proven fungicide solutions, including Pyraclostrobin, Prothioconazole 480, and Prothio + TEB EC. But did you know our fungicide portfolio doesn’t stop there? We also carry Azoxystrobin + Propiconazole and Boscalid WDG, giving growers even more options to tailor disease control programs to their crop and operation. Whether these products are already part of your fungicide strategy or you’re considering trying them for the first time, Johnston’s Grain has the solutions you need at competitive prices. Check out the information below to learn more.
