Old Crop Marketing

Old crop marketing opportunities are becoming increasingly limited as the trade shifts its attention toward the 2026 harvest, with new crop supplies expected to enter the pipeline in the coming weeks. Unless a buyer has an immediate need for a specific commodity, variety or quality specification, many remaining old crop inventories may need to be carried into the new marketing year. On the new crop side, pricing has shown encouraging signs of recovery after reaching seasonal lows late in the current marketing year. While markets remain sensitive to weather, yield expectations and global demand, values have begun to trend higher, creating the potential for improved marketing opportunities as harvest approaches. As always, having a marketing plan and remaining flexible will be key to capitalizing on opportunities as they arise.
