New Global Regenerative Agriculture Framework Unveiled in Saskatoon
The Sustainable Agriculture Initiative Platform launched its global Regenerating Together Program in Saskatoon in June, building on a framework first introduced in 2023. The program is designed to bring greater consistency to how regenerative agriculture is defined and verified while preserving flexibility for different farms, climates and production systems.
Rather than requiring a fixed list of practices, the framework focuses on measurable outcomes related to soil health, water, biodiversity and climate resilience. Farmers can select the practices that best suit their operations, which is especially important in regions where approaches such as cover cropping may not be practical.
The program is intended as a business-to-business verification system, not a consumer-facing certification label. Participating companies may communicate their regenerative agriculture commitments and implementation efforts, but the framework does not support on-package environmental claims. Verification is based on farm-management systems and sampling rather than certifying every farm or product individually.
More than 40 food and agriculture companies have supported the initiative, including Nestlé, McCain Foods & many more. Their interest reflects growing concern about the long-term resilience of farms and agricultural supply chains.
Farmer groups have responded cautiously but constructively. Support will likely depend on whether the program remains flexible, reflects real farm conditions and provides meaningful recognition or financial value to producers. The broader opportunity is to create a common framework that acknowledges the work regenerative farmers are already doing while helping companies make more credible and consistent claims across their supply chains.

Bringing Your Crop Back After Hail
A tiered game plan from low-cost bio-stimulants to fungicides to help hail-hit acres recover across Western Canada. It has been a rough stretch of weather. Hail events have swept across Western Canada in recent weeks, and thousands of acres from Alberta through Manitoba are showing the bruises stripped leaves, snapped stems, and stands that suddenly look a lot thinner than they did the week before.
The good news: for most spring-sown crops at this point in the season, the plants have the biology to bounce back if they get a little help and if they haven’t advanced too far into the reproductive stage. Recovery is largely about re-establishing green leaf area, restarting growth, and protecting the plant from secondary stress while it heals.

Hormonal products such as cytokinins and lignin-based biostimulants are well known for helping crops re-establish themselves after a hail event. Because they’re deployed at very low dosages, they are exceptionally cost-effective — and they tank-mix well with just about anything else headed across the field, from foliar fertility to pesticides.

A few notes on the lineup
Macro blends — Crop-specific NPK formulations applied at 1 L/ac, from the 3–4 leaf stage to early bloom. Available in 1,000 L totes, with bulk discounts on 5,000 L+ and truckload pricing on 19,000 L / 29,000 L orders.
Micro blends — Low-rate micronutrient top-ups built around stress-support biology — a strong, low-cost fit for hail recovery. Bloom Micro suits canola, mustard, brassicas, alfalfa, and pulses; Cereal Micro suits wheat, barley, oats, corn, and rye.
BioMaxx — A two-part system (1 L MA1 + 1 L MA6 per acre) pairing macronutrients and plant-growth promoters with the biology of Annelida worm-casting extracts.
