New Addition: Flucabazone-200

The post-patent crop protection market continues to expand, bringing proven chemistries to growers at a significantly lower cost. At Johnstons Grain, we are continuously tracking active ingredients and formulations
coming off patent so we can continue delivering reliable, cost-effective solutions to our valued customers.

Most recently, Flucarbazone 200 has come off patent and is now available through Johnstons Grain. This proven Group 2 chemistry has been widely used across the Prairies for dependable residual Wild Oats control, while also providing activity on Green Foxtail, Barnyard Grass, and Japanese Brome. Flucarbazone offers excellent tank-mix flexibility with many broadleaf herbicides, making it a strong fit in cereal acres where growers are looking to maintain performance, simplify weed control programs, and reduce overall herbicide costs compared to premium branded options.

WEED IT: Demo Days

UPDATED: The WEED-IT spot spraying demo unit has officially landed in Bow Island and is ready for another round of real-world prairie testing. Growers are getting the opportunity to see firsthand how WEED-IT can dramatically reduce chemical usage, target weeds with pinpoint precision, and maximize every spray pass across the field.

As the week progresses, the demo tour will move through Lethbridge County by Wednesday, then into the Picture Butte and Barons area on Thursday. By Friday, the unit is expected to arrive in Bassano before heading east into Saskatchewan with planned stops beginning in Shaunavon and potentially Swift Current.

If you’ve been curious about spot spraying technology, this is your chance to put WEED-IT through the ultimate test in your own farm conditions. Book a live field demonstration today and see the savings, efficiency, and weed control performance for yourself. Demo spots are filling quickly as the unit moves across the prairies, so contact your local Johnstons Grain representative now to schedule a stop, secure your demo, and learn how WEED-IT can help lower input costs while improving spray efficiency this season.
